KUCHING: A Korean feature film titled
Distinct: Becoming Sarawak is being developed to showcase Sarawak’s multicultural harmony to global audiences.
According to
DayakDaily, the project will be filmed entirely in Malaysia, particularly across various locations in Sarawak.
The production is a collaboration between Korean production company Monster Factory and Malaysian production house The Black Label.
Producer Lee Sang-chan said the Korean film will introduce Malaysia and Sarawak to global audiences through the international appeal and emotional storytelling associated with Korean cinema.
He added that the story will centre on a Korean exchange student who arrives in Sarawak and befriends local university students, reflecting the state’s unique coexistence of different races, religions and cultures.
