Sabah Forestry Development Authority (Safoda) General Manager Datuk Bahrul Razha Chuprat said rubber tapping activities under the project began in 2018 and have generated financial benefits for local communities.
He said Safoda developed the Latex Timber Forest Plantation (ITP) covering 1,868 hectares in the West and North regions in 2011 to ensure a sustainable timber supply while strengthening the rubber agri-commodity sector.

Bahrul said Safoda is also exploring other revenue-generating initiatives such as solar energy, renewable energy, wind turbines and carbon-related projects to support long-term forestry development
