Kota Kinabalu: The KK Jazz Festival is making its triumphant return — and it’s bringing soul, rhythm and purpose back to Sabah!
Supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment Sabah (KePKAS), the 14th KK Jazz Festival returns after a six-year post-Covid 19 hiatus, with one of its founding figures – Frankie Fu had passed away.
Co-organised by the Rotary Club of Kota Kinabalu (RCKK) and the Society of Performing Arts Sabah (SPArKS), the music festival, once a domestic and foreign tourism draw attraction at Sutera Habour Resort tennis court premises, will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Hongkod Koisaan’s KDCA Hall, Penampang from 6.00pm to 11pm.
Tickets are priced at RM50 and RM100.
Though the jazz community mourns the loss of a founding visionary Frankie Fu, his lifting spirit will undoubtedly echo through every note played on that magical night.
Every ringgit fuels life-changing community projects — from clean water initiatives to literacy programs and blindness prevention. Dance the night away knowing you’re literally changing lives.
The festival is a fundraising event supporting community and arts initiatives in Sabah. Previous proceeds have funded projects such as water sanitation, literacy programmes and blindness prevention.
The Lineup? Absolutely stacked. Prepare to be mesmerised by international sensation Shun Ng featuring Yuuki Shiojima and Jordan Bertrand, the soulful Megan Hen, the dynamic Wilson Quah Quartet, and the powerhouse John Thomas Quartet featuring Dasha Logan.
Add the Anthony Chang Big Band, Velvet Aduk, The Vibes and Appy Tot to the mix, and you’ve got a sonic journey spanning continents and genres.
But wait — there’s more! John Thomas himself will host an exclusive drum workshop, offering aspiring musicians a rare chance to learn from a master.
This isn’t just entertainment; it’s education, inspiration, and transformation rolled into one unforgettable evening.
