PAPAR: The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) has detected 295 offences nationwide under Ops Pantau 2026 during the Ramadan period, with seizures amounting to RM1,093,810.65.
Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said 229 compound notices were issued involving fines totalling RM57,500 following inspections of 16,059 premises nationwide as of Feb 26.

He said the operation, running from Feb 19 to March 20, is aimed at ensuring traders comply with regulations while monitoring the supply and prices of goods during Ramadan and ahead of Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
“Failure to display price tags was the most common offence with 143 cases, followed by violations involving weighing and measuring instruments with 78 cases,” he said during a press conference at the Program Sentuhan Kasih, Madani Rahmah Sales Programme (PJRM) and Consumerism Advocacy event at SMK Pengalat here on Saturday.
In Sabah, Armizan said 1,430 inspections were conducted, resulting in 59 cases with seizures amounting to RM164,878, while 49 compounds totalling RM11,400 were issued.
He said the government has allocated RM300 million under the 2026 National Budget to strengthen the Payung Rahmah initiative, including the implementation of 1,898 PJRM Ramadan sales nationwide offering essential goods at discounts of between 10 and 30 per cent below market prices.
