Kota Kinabalu: A 24-year-old man was charged in the Magistrate’s Court here with using a forged transaction receipt as genuine at a shop in Manggatal.
Self-employed Muhd Izrael Khan Ali Khan pleaded not guilty before Magistrate Wan Farrah Farriza Wan Ghazali to dishonestly using as genuine a forged payment transaction receipt dated Feb 14, 2026, at Sinalau Hub, Telipok, on Feb 14 this year, at 4.30pm.
The offence falls under Section 471 of the Penal Code and is punishable under Section 465, which provides for up to two years’ jail, or a fine, or both on conviction.
The Magistrate fixed April 13 for pre-trial case management and released the accused on bail of RM3,000 in two sureties.
In another case, a 29-year-old man was jailed for one month for possessing copper pipe casings believed to be stolen.
Ahadi Salleh pleaded guilty before Magistrate Marilyn Kelvin to having 13 pieces of copper casing, for which he failed to provide a reasonable explanation, at 1.45am on Feb 5 on a pedestrian bridge at the Api-Api Centre, here.
Ahadi had committed an offence under Section 22A(1) of the Minor Offences Ordinance (Cap 80) of Sabah, which carries a penalty of a fine not exceeding RM100, or imprisonment for up to three months, or both, on conviction.
The court heard from the prosecution that Ahadi was detained by police at the location for possessing the items. Police seized the copper pipe casings and arrested him for failing to provide a reasonable explanation, said the prosecution.
