KOTA KINABALU: Nominated Assemblyman and GRS Secretary-General Datuk Mohamed Razali Razi said Sabahans deserve clear explanations on the proposed Indian consulate in the state, stressing that if it benefits the country, it should be supported.
He urged the public not to look down on Indian nationals, noting many are educated professionals who can contribute to Sabah’s development.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim recently agreed to support India’s plan to open a consulate in Kota Kinabalu during a joint press conference with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Razali was speaking at a charity event for orphans at Sabah Oriental Hotel, organised by the hotel’s management and Smart Sabah, which he chairs.
The programme assisted 20 recipients in its first phase, with plans to expand next year.
He also called for patience amid ongoing floods on the East Coast, saying the government is responding and describing the disaster as a test, especially during Ramadan.
