KENINGAU: A group of 19 students from the Cosmetology programme at Keningau Vocational College (KVC), along with several teachers, carried out a beauty and personal grooming service programme for the residents of the Holy Family Residence for Senior Citizens in Papar, recently.

The programme began with a briefing from the elderly care centre’s representative, Juitah Orou @ Sister Clara, before the grooming sessions were carried out by the KVC students and teachers.
The services offered included pedicures, manicures, massages, and haircuts. Over 40 senior citizens, who are the primary residents of the home, as well as staff members, benefitted from these treatments.
In addition to the beauty services, KVC also donated food supplies and Christmas decorations, contributed by the college staff. To lift the spirits of the residents, the programme included singing and dancing sessions.
The students and teachers also took the time to engage in conversations with the elderly residents, fostering a sense of community. The Holy Family Residence for Senior Citizens is open to public contributions, and interested parties can contact the management at 088 911334 or 013 8709800.
KVC’s Director, Lumang anak Lang, expressed great satisfaction with the success of the programme, emphasizing that it showcases the vocational education system’s commitment to producing skilled professionals who also contribute positively to the community.
