Caught operating during CNY road ban

Tuaran: The Sabah Road Transport Department has impounded a general cargo semi-trailer for violating the goods vehicle road ban during the Chinese New Year 2026 celebration period in Telipok, here. 

The enforcement action was taken on Saturday after the vehicle was found operating during the prohibited hours.

Inspections by the Department found the semi-trailer was transporting seven units of aluminium coils when it committed the offence of driving a goods vehicle during the road ban period on Saturday. 

The vehicle was seized under Rule 2(1) of the Road Transport Rules (Goods Vehicle Transportation) RTR (PDGV). It has been taken to the Department’s Telipok inspection station for weighing, documentation checks, investigation and further action.
