KOTA KINABALU: Three houses were almost completely destroyed in a fire at Kampung Tebobon, Menggatal early this morning, leaving two residents injured.
The Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call at 5.43am and arrived at the scene, about 15km away, at 5.59am. A total of 20 personnel from Lintas and Kota Kinabalu stations were deployed.

According to the operations commander, the blaze involved three homes and firefighters used two hose lines with water sourced from fire engines and a nearby hydrant. Two neighbouring houses were successfully saved from the fire.
A 60-year-old man suffered burns to his hands, legs and back, while a 48-year-old woman sustained minor burns. Both victims were sent to Tuaran Hospital for treatment.
The operation was brought under control at 6.41am and fully concluded at 8.30am after authorities confirmed the area was safe.
