PENAMPANG: Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate for the Moyog State Legislative Assembly (DUN) seat, Remysta Jimmy Taylor, has outlined six key resolutions to develop the constituency for the well-being of its residents if elected as the representative in the 17th Sabah state election (PRN).
He said the resolutions include providing free tuition programmes for students sitting for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination, as well as strengthening Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) opportunities in the constituency.
“When they take the SPM, tuition will be free. We want the children and youths in Moyog to have equal educational opportunities. Competition is very high. With good results and tuition support, they can get into reputable universities.
“From there, they can secure good jobs, support their families, and improve their living standards and economic prospects,” he said during the Remysta Harapan Mega Concert campaign here last night, which was also attended by PKR vice-president Datuk Seri R. Ramanan.
To empower TVET, Remysta pledged to bring more skills courses through community colleges, Industrial Training Institutes (ILP), and GiatMara to open up job opportunities for the youth of Moyog.
Speaking before more than 2,000 attendees, he also presented resolutions related to healthcare, including increasing mobile clinic services in areas such as Kibabaig, Terawi, Pogunon, Timpangoh, and Maang for basic check-ups and immediate treatment.
Remysta also expressed his intention to advocate for the construction of a modern Penampang Hospital equipped with the latest medical facilities, aimed at reducing congestion at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kota Kinabalu and ensuring easier access to healthcare for Moyog residents.
He further reiterated his commitment to expedite flood mitigation projects and expressed aspirations to develop Moyog into a tourism hub to boost the income of the local community.
Moyog, under the Penampang parliamentary constituency, is among the 73 state seats contested in the 17th Sabah state election, which will take place this Saturday.
