Kota Kinabalu: Warisan candidate Azhar Matusin expressed his confidence in retaining the Darau seat due to his continuous efforts in serving the people for the past five years.
“Retaining Darau is not just about winning an election, but guaranteeing a seat at the table for Sabah’s dignity and future. It proves that the ‘Sabah First’ spirit of Warisan is alive and well established in the constituency.
“A vote for us is a vote for a superb governance. One that highlights transparency and accountability,” he told Daily Express.
He said the flood issue has been plaguing the constituency for a long time.
“We will (also) unlock Darau’s vast potential by transforming our mangrove paradise into a world-class Eco-Tourism Destination,” he said, adding this will bring in new revenue to the locals.
He also said plans to launch the Darau Digital-Green initiative to equip youths with skills for modern economy and empower local small businesses through micro-loans along with market access.
He said fast-track process is needed to formally gazette a permanent, secure place for residents impacted by complex land issues in Likas to ensure families have a fixed place to live.
“We will implement a revitalisation plan to turn the underutilized areas in Taman Kingfisher into proper, safe recreational and sports facilities for all families to enjoy.”
Azhar said all these would be possible if Warisan succeeds in forming the State Government.
