KOTA KINABALU: Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said Pakatan Harapan is not naming any candidate for Chief Minister, stressing that the decision belongs solely to Sabahans.
He told a crowd at the Ceramah Umum PMX Harapan Urang Sabah in Bukit Padang that the coalition respects the principle of allowing Sabah voters to choose their own leader.
Anwar acknowledged Pakatan Harapan’s close cooperation with the State Government but said this does not extend to determining who should lead Sabah.
He said the coalition’s focus is on fielding strong candidates who can serve the people well and maintain a constructive relationship with the Federal Government.
Anwar added that strengthening Sabah’s development requires continued partnership and trust between both levels of government.
