Under the 12th Malaysia Plan, UDA has been mandated to provide entrepreneurial infrastructure nationwide through the Malaysian Entrepreneur Hub programme.

Benedick expressed appreciation to the Ranau District Council for providing the site and technical support.

He also thanked Bank Rakyat for being a strategic partner through financing and digitalisation programmes.

The minister highlighted this collaboration demonstrates the Whole of Government concept in action.

He stressed the importance of expanding synergy between government agencies and stakeholders.

Benedick emphasised that community development requires a comprehensive approach beyond infrastructure.

This approach must include access to financing, digitalisation and entrepreneurial training components.

He expressed confidence that hawkers in Kundasang can develop into competitive entrepreneurs through this support.

The minister hopes the centre will catalyse local economic growth and increase resident incomes.

He anticipates the project will create job opportunities and strengthen the rural tourism sector.

Benedick specifically noted the timing aligns with preparations for Visit Malaysia Year 2026.
