KOTA KINABALU: A total of 5,123 students have been offered places at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) for the 2025/2026 academic session, with registration held on Sept 27 and 28.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Kasim Mansor said 4,167 students enrolled at the Kota Kinabalu campus, 734 at the Labuan International Campus, and 222 at the Faculty of Sustainable Agriculture in Sandakan.
He said the intake comprised 3,648 students from Sabah, 928 from Peninsular Malaysia, 453 from Sarawak, 73 from Labuan, and 21 international students from China, Japan, Korea, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, Indonesia and Timor Leste.
Of the total, 1,791 are male and 3,332 are female, with 2,830 from the B40 group admitted through UPUonline, alongside eight students with disabilities and 12 athletes.
Kasim added that the new students will undergo orientation until Oct 1, and that hostel facilities, including water supply, are ready, with staggered registration helping to ensure an orderly process.
