Kota Kinabalu: Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) has been recognised as a national leader in graduate employability under the Talentbank Graduate Employability Index, based on feedback from over 1,200 employers nationwide.

The recognition reflects strong industry confidence in UMS graduates, particularly in terms of job readiness, professional competence and workplace performance.

UMS vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Kasim Mansor said the achievement underscores the university’s success in aligning its academic programmes with industry needs.

“UMS is not just providing education, but a clear pathway to future careers. Our graduates are not only knowledgeable, but trusted by industry and ready to contribute from day one,” he said.

Several UMS programmes also received Talentbank’s 6-Star Employer Choice recognition, including agriculture, banking, counselling, early childhood education, entrepreneurship, food science, hospitality management, marketing, social sciences and tourism.

The university said it will continue strengthening industry-based learning, strategic collaborations and student entrepreneurship initiatives to enhance graduate employability and expand career opportunities locally and internationally.
