Kota Kinabalu: Two motorcyclists were killed in a pre-dawn crash along Jalan UMS near Mini Putrajaya on Monday.
Acting City Police Chief Supt Syed Lot Syed Ab Rahman said the report was received at 4.40am.
“Preliminary investigations found that the incident involved a Proton Saga driven by a 27-year-old local man and a Yamaha Y15 motorcycle carrying two individuals.
“The car was travelling from Sepanggar towards Alam Mesra and had made a U-turn at the Mini Putrajaya traffic lights before continuing along the middle lane.
“A motorcycle travelling in the same direction is believed to have failed to avoid the vehicle and collided with the rear of the car,” he said in a statement.
Following the impact, the motorcyclist fell onto the middle of the road while the pillion rider was thrown onto the left shoulder.
