Fatal collision along UMS road claims two lives
Kota Kinabalu: Two motorcyclists were killed in a road accident along Jalan UMS near Mini Putrajaya early Monday morning, according to acting City police chief Supt Syed Lot Syed Ab Rahman.

Initial investigations found the crash involved a Proton Saga driven by a 27-year-old local man and a Yamaha Y15 motorcycle carrying two individuals.

The car was travelling from Sepanggar towards Alam Mesra and made a U-turn at the Mini Putrajaya traffic lights before continuing in the middle lane.

A motorcycle approaching from the same direction was unable to avoid the car and collided with its rear, causing both riders to be thrown onto the road.

Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel, while the car driver was unhurt and the vehicles were seized for further investigation, with efforts ongoing to identify the victims and trace their next of kin.
