Kota Kinabalu: Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) has been recognised as a national leader in graduate employability under the Talentbank Graduate Employability Index, based on assessments by more than 1,200 employers nationwide.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Kasim Mansor said the recognition reflects strong industry confidence in UMS graduates in terms of professional competency, job readiness and workplace performance.
He said the achievement demonstrates the effectiveness of the university’s approach in aligning education with industry needs, adding that UMS provides a clear pathway towards future careers.
Several programmes at UMS also received Talentbank 6-Star Employer Choice recognition, including agriculture, banking, counselling, early childhood education, entrepreneurship, food science, hospitality management, marketing, social sciences and tourism.
UMS continues to strengthen industry-based learning through workplace exposure, strategic partnerships and entrepreneurship development to enhance graduate employability and expand career opportunities at national and international levels.
