TAMBUNAN: A local angler struck it big after landing a “Triple 8” catfish, walking away with a cash prize of RM39,188 at a fishing pond here on April 9.
Jimson J’Bro achieved the feat at Kolam Dmaasak (KDM) when he successfully broke the “Strike Triple 8” jackpot pool during a night event.
The win came with a surprisingly low entry cost, as he only paid an additional RM3 to qualify for the jackpot system.
Speaking after his win, Jimson expressed gratitude, saying he did not expect to be so fortunate that night and described the prize as meaningful for him and his family.
He said the money would be used to support household needs, especially amid rising living costs and increasing fuel prices.
Kolam Dmaasak is well known among local fishing enthusiasts for its challenging setup and attractive jackpot system, drawing regular participation from anglers.
