Tuaran: Sekolah Menengah Advent Tamparuli (SMAT) emerged champions in two main categories at the Tuaran District Schools Sports Council (MSSD) Basketball Championship, recently, after clinching titles in both the Under-18 boys’ and girls’ categories.
In the boys’ category, SMAT defeated Sekolah Menengah St. John Tuaran, which finished as runners-up, while Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Tamparuli secured third place.

The success was repeated in the girls’ category when SMAT once again overcame SM St. John Tuaran to claim the championship, with SMK Tamparuli finishing third.
The competition, held at the Tuaran basketball court, witnessed intense competition and strong sportsmanship among all participating teams.
Following the achievement, ten male players and eight female players from SMAT were selected to represent Tuaran MSSD at the Sabah Schools Sports Council (MSS Sabah) Championship.
SMAT Principal, Err Khelex Mahani, expressed appreciation to the players and coaches for their commitment.

“The double victory reflects SMAT’s excellence and consistency in developing basketball at the school level.
“The school hopes this momentum will continue, with players remaining disciplined and focused in achieving greater success at higher levels,” he said.
