One dead, one seriously hurt in Kionsom crash

Kota Kinabalu:  A man was killed and another seriously injured in a road accident involving a Perodua Axia and a container lorry at Jalan Kionsom, Inanam, late Tuesday night.

The Fire and Rescue Department (BBP) received the emergency call at 11.37pm and arrived at the scene at 11.45pm, about 6km away.

Operations commander Mohd Hasrulnizam bin Mohd Zain reported that the Perodua Axia is believed to have lost control and crashed into the rear of the container lorry.

Two victims trapped in the Perodua Axia were extricated by firefighters, with one pronounced dead at the scene by Health Ministry personnel and handed over to police, while the other, identified as Saiman Musa, 41, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital 1 for treatment.
