Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said the State Government will continue to support the needs of police personnel, describing them as key strategic partners in the State’s security and development.

“State security is the foundation of development stability, the wellbeing of the people and investor confidence,” he said.

Hajiji said security is a key enabler of economic growth under the Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya 2.0 (SMJ 2.0) development plan and a core pillar in strengthening the wellbeing of the people.

“Without stability, it would certainly affect the implementation of SMJ 2.0,” he said when officiating at the opening of Sabah Police Gallery at Sabah Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK).

Kota Kinabalu: KOTA KINABALU: Fiesta Mega Raya (FMR) 2026 is set to be the largest and most prestigious Hari Raya celebration in Sabah, taking place from March 7 to 18, at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), here.
The Chief Minister praised the initiative to convert an old IPK building into Sabah Police Gallery, calling it “not merely a place for exhibitions, but a living archive that preserves the history, hardships and commitment of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) in Sabah.

“This gallery stands as a testament to the struggle, sacrifice and dedication of police personnel in maintaining national security.

“It serves as a platform to express appreciation for the invaluable sacrifices, contributions and services of all PDRM personnel, both serving and retired,” he said.

Among the main exhibits is the 2013 Tanduo incident in Lahad Datu, which remains a significant memory and part of the State’s history.

“I view the establishment of this gallery as highly significant and timely in ensuring that the sacrifices of national heroes remain etched in memory,” he said.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the gallery’s role as an educational centre and historical reference for the younger generations to appreciate the value of peace and security.

“It educates the younger generation and reminds us all of the meaning of security, peace and the high discipline upheld by the police force,” he said.

In conjunction with the 219th Police Commemoration Day, the Chief Minister urged all PDRM personnel to strengthen their spirit and resolve to serve with full commitment in safeguarding the nation’s security, wellbeing and peace.

“To maintain a high level of integrity in service, I hope all police personnel will continue to serve with discipline and integrity.

“Let the displays in this gallery serve as a source of inspiration to continue upholding the honour of the force,” he said.
