TUN Musa Aman joined some 500 personnel of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Sabah Contingent for a breaking-of-fast event at the multipurpose hall of the Kota Kinabalu District Police Headquarters on Wednesday.
The Sabah Head of State attended the event with his wife, Toh Puan Faridah Tussin, and was welcomed by Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun and his wife.
Also present were Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor and his wife Datin Seri Juliah Salag.
During the event, Musa presented cash contributions from Majlis Ugama Islam Sabah and Pusat Zakat Sabah to 38 recipients, including converts to Islam, widows and orphans from families of police personnel, as part of efforts to support the welfare of the “Sang Saka Biru”.
The programme also featured a recitation of Surah Al-Kahfi involving more than 300 police personnel, followed by a religious talk and prayers delivered by Sabah State Mufti Bungsu @ Aziz Jaafar.
After breaking fast, Musa and Faridah joined the congregation in performing the Maghrib and Isyak prayers at Surau Fisabilillah at the district police headquarters before continuing with Tarawih prayers with police personnel.
Among those present were Datuk Seri Kadzim M. Yahya, Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, Datuk Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif, Datuk Rubin Balang and Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan.
