Kota Kinabalu: The public is invited to attend a thanksgiving ceremony, Doa Selamat and Solat Hajat in conjunction with the 75th Official Birthday Celebration of the Sabah Yang di-Pertua Negeri today (Friday).
Sabah Islamic Religious Affairs Department (Jheains) Director Awang Juri Awang Tahir
(pic) said the event will be held at the State Mosque, starting at 11.40am.
“The programme will begin with the recitation of Yasin, followed by tahlil and a thanksgiving prayer. Congregants will then perform Friday prayers and Solat Hajat together.
“Doa Selamat and Solat Hajat are among the practices often observed when seeking blessings, protection and well-being from Allah SWT.
“In this context, it is a manifestation of the people’s prayers for the State leader to be granted good health, ease in all matters and continued wisdom in leadership,” he told the media after an interview at Sabah FM, Thursday.
Awang Juri, who is also the programme’s organising committee chairman, said the Governor is expected to attend the event alongside State leaders.
He said similar programmes would be held at the district level on Thursday night, featuring Yasin recitations, Doa Selamat and Solat Hajat after the Isyak prayer.
“We hope this event will have a positive impact in strengthening spiritual values among the community, while also fostering gratitude and togetherness,” he said.
He added that the overall programme has been carefully arranged to ensure it is conducted in a calm, orderly and meaningful atmosphere, in line with its main objectives.
