PAPAR: A new electricity substation in Kg Takis here is expected to be fully operational by early April, improving power stability for residents and businesses in the surrounding area.

Papar Member of Parliament Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said the substation project was completed on Feb 26 this year and is currently undergoing the load transfer phase from the existing facility to the new one.

He said the project was initiated following long-standing complaints from residents over voltage drops below the nominal level of 216 volts, which had affected homes and commercial premises in the village.

“The situation has disrupted daily electricity use and, in some cases, caused damage to electrical appliances. It also poses the risk of short circuits, which can affect business operations and residents’ daily activities.
