PAPAR: A new electricity substation in Kampung Takis here is expected to be fully operational by early April, improving power stability for residents and businesses in the surrounding area.
Papar MP Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said the project was completed on Feb 26 and is currently undergoing the load transfer process from the existing facility to the new substation.

He said the project was initiated following long-standing complaints from residents over voltage drops below the nominal level of 216 volts that affected homes and commercial premises in the village.
Armizan, who is also Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister, said once fully operational the substation is expected to resolve the issue and ensure a more stable electricity supply to support daily activities and increasing demand in the surrounding area.
He added that Sabah Electricity had also implemented several similar projects in the Papar parliamentary constituency, including substations completed last year in Kampung Beringgis, Kampung Sekayan, Kampung Kawakahan and Kampung Sagang.
