KENINGAU: The Kampung Merampong Village Tamu House in Bingkor was opened recently as an official business platform to increase the income of small traders and boost local economic activities.

Officially opened by Assistant Minister of Finance Dato’ Sr. Mohd Ishak Ayub, the Tamu Desa Building provides a more organised and conducive business space for village micro-entrepreneurs, especially traders of agricultural products, food and daily necessities.

The Bingkor Assemblyman said, the provision of basic facilities oriented to the grassroots economy is a practical step to ensure that the planned development has a direct impact on the lives of the people, not just symbolic.

Developments such as Tamu Desa not only help increase household income, but also promote local economic circulation and reduce the dependence of rural residents on urban centres.
