SANDAKAN: Police have arrested three individuals, including a foreign national, in connection with a robbery at a house in Mile 7 in the early hours of March 21.
District deputy police chief Supt RamasamyKuppan said in a statement that the incident occurred at about 1.30am when a local woman was attacked by an unidentified man who entered the house through a window.
He said the suspect robbed the victim and fled with several valuables, including a mobile phone and jewellery, with losses estimated at RM20,000.
Acting on information and follow-up investigations, police conducted operations and arrested three individuals in the Sandakan area between March 24 and 25.
He added that the main suspect is a foreign national without valid identification documents, and further interrogation led to the arrest of two others, including a pawnshop caretaker, as well as the recovery of items believed linked to the case, while the case is being investigated under Section 394 of the Penal Code for causing injury during a robbery.
