TAWAU: Police detained a foreign man in his 50s during an Op Dadu raid targeting suspected gambling activities at an open area in Kg Titingan, Jalan Tawau Lama, on Thursday night.
Tawau District Police Chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said the suspect was arrested by a team from the Tawau Police Station at about 10.05pm for allegedly being involved in gambling activities.

“During the raid, police detected the man in the operation area before arresting him and seizing a numbered whiteboard, pieces of playing cards and RM68 in cash,” he said.
He said further inspection at the scene also led to the discovery of two transparent plastic bottles containing a brownish liquid suspected to be ketum juice.
Jasmin added that an initial urine screening test found the suspect positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine, with the case being investigated under Section 4(1)(c) of the Common Gaming Houses Act, Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, Section 30(3) of the Poisons Act and Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/62.
