PENAMPANG: Police arrested a 29-year-old local man and seized suspected ketamine during an early morning operation in the district on Friday.
District police chief Supt Sammy Newton said officers from its Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division detained the suspect and discovered 19 transparent plastic packets containing crystal-like substances believed to be ketamine.
The seized drugs were estimated to weigh about 54.62 grammes with a market value of approximately RM8,193, while an initial urine screening test found the suspect positive for ketamine and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).
Police said the case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 as well as Section 15(1)(a) of the same Act.
