KEMABONG: Residents of Kampung Tinura here want the relevant authorities to urgently repair a culvert damaged by recent floods.
Spokesperson Usup Antawor said that following the damage to the culvert, villagers have been cut off from the access road to their farms, as there is no alternative route available.
He said if immediate action is not taken, it will not only leave the villagers, most of whom are farmers isolated from their land, but will also directly impact their income as they are unable to transport their agricultural produce for sale.
“The majority of residents in this village are farmers cultivating rubber, oil palm, coffee and bananas, which serve as their source of income to support their families’ daily needs,” he told Daily Express.
