Kota Kinabalu: State Police Commissioner Jauteh Dikun said investigations into the gruesome case in Indah Permai are in their final stages and will soon be referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) for further instructions.
Jauteh said several arrests have been made so far, mostly involving family members of the main suspect, to assist in the investigation.
“Investigations are now in the final phase before we forward the case to the DPP for further direction,” he said.
Efforts to locate two remaining body parts of the deceased are still ongoing. However, police have yet to uncover new leads on their whereabouts.
“We believe the missing parts were possibly taken by wild animals or may have been mixed with other waste. Nevertheless, efforts are continuing to locate them,” he added.
On the suspect’s remand status, Jauteh confirmed that the remand order is still in effect.
