PITAS: The search and rescue (SAR) operation for a 52-year-old man reported missing in a rubber plantation in Kampung Mansuit, Bongkol, has entered its fourth day, with no sign of the victim as of Tuesday.
The missing individual, identified as Syivience Mongudal, was last seen on March 18 while clearing land in the plantation area.
According to a witness, who is also the complainant’s uncle, the victim failed to return home as usual, raising alarm among family members.
The Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Centre said it received an emergency call at 3.20pm last Saturday via the station hotline.
Following the report, a team of four personnel led by Operations Commander Gabuh Maradan was dispatched to the location.
The SAR operation involves multiple agencies, including the police, the Civil Defence Force (APM) and villagers, who have been actively combing the surrounding plantation area since the man was reported missing.
Despite continuous efforts over several days, no breakthrough has been reported. Family members and residents had initially conducted their own search before lodging a police report at the Pitas Police Station at 4.31pm last Friday.
Authorities have not ruled out any possibilities and are continuing efforts to locate the missing man, urging anyone with information to come forward as the search enters a critical phase.
