KENINGAU: A major search and rescue operation has been launched by the Keningau Fire and Rescue Station after a 60-year-old man and his seven-year-old grandson went missing at Sungai Pagalan near Taman Bersatu.
The pair reportedly went to the river at 9:35am, Tuesday, to test a boat.
Concern arose when a witness arrived about 90 minutes later and found them gone.
Personal items including a boat, engine, and fuel cans were left on rocks.
The fire department dispatched nine personne upon receiving the 6.11pm distress call.
The operation, led by the Police, focuses on the area where the items were found.
Rescue teams continue searching despite challenging river conditions.
