SIPITANG: Around 600 people attended the Consumer Advocacy Programme and Rahmah Madani I Sales Programme (PJRM) Premium at the Sipitang Multipurpose Hall on Saturday.
Julie Julhani, Chief Enforcement Officer of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN), said the event, organised through the ministry’s Beaufort branch, aimed to help the public access essential goods at lower prices while boosting consumer awareness and literacy.
Under the Rahmah Madani Sales Programme, daily necessities were offered at discounts of 10 to 30 percent below market prices. The initiative is part of the Madani Government’s effort to ease the cost of living, especially in rural areas.
The event also featured consumer advocacy sessions, a mobile complaints counter via the Sabah Star Van, agency exhibitions and service counters, health screening, a blood donation drive, a children’s colouring contest and a lucky draw.
KPDN plans to expand the Rahmah Madani Sales Programme to more locations to prioritise public well-being in line with government goals. Attendees were encouraged to continue supporting and benefiting from these initiatives.
The event was officiated by Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Armizan Mohd Ali, with Sipitang MP Matbali Musah, Sabah Development Berhad Chairman Yusof Yacob, KPDN Sabah Director Shahril Nizam Shahidin, Sipitang District Officer Abd Karim A.M. Zahari, and Sindumin Community Development Leader Unit representative Raffie Isa also present.
