Kota Kinabalu: Sabah will have its own National Heart Institute (IJN) hospital following the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Yayasan Sabah Group, through Innoprise Corporation Sdn Bhd, and IJN here on Monday.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor witnessed the signing ceremony at the Sabah International Convention Centre and said the project reflects the government’s commitment to improving healthcare services for the people.

The hospital, dedicated to cardiovascular treatment, will be built on a 10-acre site in Likas under the strategic collaboration.
Innoprise Corporation Executive Chairman Datuk Jasnih Daya said the facility would reduce reliance on out-of-state treatment, lower travel costs and ease pressure on existing services, including the Sabah Heart Centre at Queen Elizabeth Hospital II.
IJN Chairman Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the initiative addresses the growing need for accessible, high-quality cardiac care, while also creating opportunities in health tourism and workforce development through a separate MoU involving University College Sabah Foundation and IJN University College.
