KOTA MARUDU: Flash floods have displaced hundreds in Kota Marudu and Pitas, with evacuation efforts still ongoing as the number of victims continues to rise.
In Kota Marudu, 274 people from 83 households have been moved to a temporary relief centre at SMK Tandek.

The district disaster was officially declared at about 6am on Friday by District Officer and District Disaster Management Committee chairman Meirin Sugara.
In Pitas, 62 victims from 28 households have been evacuated to four relief centres: SK Rukom Ulu, Dewan Majlis Daerah, Dewan Kusilad and Dewan Kabatasan.
According to the district disaster committee, rescue and evacuation operations remain active, with more victims expected to be relocated.
Several villages in the Bandau and Tandek state constituencies are affected.
Police, Fire and Rescue Department, Civil Defence Force and the district council are working together to move residents to safety.
