TAWAU: Two new cemetery projects in Tawau—at Apas (Tanah Perkuburan Baradaya) and Merotai—are expected to be expedited to address overcrowding at the Jalan Utara Islamic Cemetery, said Assistant Minister for Women, Health and Wellbeing Datuk Rina Jainal.
Speaking after officiating the fourth annual Gotong-Royong Perdana Kukusan cleanup at Jalan Utara Cemetery on Sunday, she noted the rising population and expanding settlements make new burial sites increasingly urgent.
