TAWAU: A 32-year-old man with 11 prior criminal records has been arrested over a masked attack that seriously injured a motorcycle mechanic in Kg Kongsi 8 last Sunday.

Police said the 31-year-old victim was lured to the area at 11.38pm by a supposed customer and attacked while waiting on his motorcycle, with his left leg pierced by a thin iron rod.

The suspect later took him to hospital, where he underwent two surgeries before lodging a police report after being discharged.

The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for causing injury and Section 506 for criminal intimidation.
