SANDAKAN: A festive market in conjunction with the 2026 Chinese New Year celebrations will be held for two nights, from Feb 14 to 15, at Jalan 2, Sandakan Town Centre.

The programme, organised by the Sandakan Municipal Council (MPS) in collaboration with the Sandakan Parliamentary Service Centre, the Sandakan Chinese Chamber of Commerce, and the United Chinese Association of Sandakan, will feature a variety of activities alongside food sales, festive supplies, and local products.

Among the highlights is a lion and dragon parade on Feb 15 from 5pm to 7pm, with the decorated floats moving from Padang Bandaran to Bandar Indah, Batu 4, here.

The main event will include lion and dragon dance performances and a fireworks display in front of the Bandar Indah signboard.

Members of the public are invited to join in the celebrations and enjoy the festive atmosphere during the Chinese New Year 2026 events.
