KOTA KINABALU: A flood disaster was declared in Beaufort at 5pm on Friday following reports and ground assessments by the District Disaster Management Committee, said District Officer Mohd Nazri Ajun.

Nazri said the declaration was made after information from relevant agencies confirmed that flooding had occurred in the district, triggering the activation of coordinated disaster management measures under the committee’s authority.

He added that the Beaufort District Disaster Management Committee would continue to work closely with state agencies to monitor the situation and ensure assistance and response efforts are carried out as needed.
