SANDAKAN: Several roads and parking areas at Lorong A in the Rancangan Rumah Murah Kampung Sim-Sim were briefly inundated on Friday night following a 2.8-metre high tide.
A check found that seawater had risen through a nearby drain at the parking area, coinciding with evening rain.
The Civil Defence Force (APM) reported that water levels reached ankle height along the road during its tidal monitoring in the settlement.
APM said no homes were affected and the situation remained under control throughout the night.
Its Sandakan team has since moved to Kampung Bokara, Kampung Air and other water-village areas to carry out further monitoring.
