LAHAD DATU: Incumbent for Segama seat, Datuk Mohamaddin Ketapi has laid out a 100-day agenda from public facilities upgrades to social support schemes.
The plan includes installation of solar-powered streetlights across 20 villages under the Smart 2.0 initiative, alongside youth-led community upkeep programmes.
Mohamaddin also highlighted the Membara 2.0 housing support scheme, which provides essential repair materials for five low-income households in each of Segama’s nine PDM areas.
“Expediting village gazettement processes for several settlements including Kampung Wawasan 1, Kampung Wawasan 2, Kampung Burung, Kampung Unta and Kampung Damai will also be my priority.
He is committed to strengthening the youth through sport activities such as Liga Belia Kampung, which brings together youth from 55 localities in events such as football, futsal, badminton and e-sports.
Segama will also host the East Coast Motorsports Event (Esme), planned for early 2026, which aims to attract visitors and create new economic opportunities for local businesses.
We will propose for a new alternative rural road linking Segama POIC and Jalan Tengah Nipah aimed at easing congestion and improving access to economic centres,” he said.
According to Mohamaddin, plans are also in place to pursue immediate implementation of Sri Putatan water treatment plant and its supporting pipeline network, which is expected to strengthen clean water supply for Segama and Lahad Datu.
