Kundasang: In a strong pre-election message, Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) Secretary-General Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun declared Kundasang, Karanaan, and Paginatan are now moving as one political bloc — a rare display of KDM unity he says could reshape Ranau’s political landscape.
Speaking at the Program “Untukmu Kundasang” at SF Kitchen on Monday, Masidi said his presence in Kundasang — despite contesting in Karanaan — was a deliberate signal that GRS is breaking traditional boundaries.
“We come from different parties, different DUNs — but in GRS, we are one. That’s why I’m here. We help each other to win,” he said.
Masidi revealed he was supporting Datuk Seri Joachim Gunsalam in Kundasang and tasked with strengthening GRS efforts in neighbouring Paginatan, forming what he described as a tightly-aligned “Tri-DUN Front.”
“This coordinated approach is not just political strategy — it shows Sabahans that unity among KDM leaders in GRS is real, not rhetorical,” he said.
“Many parties claim they represent the KDM community. But here in GRS, in Kundasang, Karanaan and Paginatan, we want to show we are truly united — same community, same purpose — and we want this unity to translate into victory,” Masidi added.
He stressed that Ranau’s future depends on cross-constituency cooperation, noting that progress in one area inevitably affects the others.
“What happens in one DUN impacts another. That’s why we must move together. When leaders cooperate, Ranau as a whole moves forward,” he said.
Masidi added that a GRS clean sweep across the three KDM-majority seats would send a powerful statewide message.
“If we can prove this unity here, it becomes an example for other areas — that cooperation strengthens stability,” he said.
With Datuk Seri Joachim beside him, Masidi ended the session confidently: “Yes, I believe he will win,” he said, smiling.
