RANAU: The residents of Kg Tibabar Ranau can now benefit with the inauguration of Kg Tibabar Open Hall under the Madani Community Welfare programme Ranau Member of Parliament, Datuk Jonathan Yasin, described it as another effort to improve basic rural facilities for the people.
“Every government allocation is for the benefit of the people. Therefore, I hope that this facility is taken care of responsibly so that it can be used in the long term,” he said.
The open hall has the potential to become a major location for organizing meetings, courses, social events, youth programs and various community activities that can boost the development of the village.
The construction cost approximately RM200,000 and is seen as an important investment in strengthening the local community infrastructure.
The residents welcomed it as a long-awaited facility. They believe that the existence of the hall can strengthen ties of friendship and strengthen the spirit of mutual cooperation among the community.
The Madani Community Wellbeing programme (SejaTi Madani) is a government initiative that offers grants of up to RM100,000 to eligible communities to boost socio-economic activities and increase income.
It focuses on “Quick Win” projects (results in 3-6 months) in agriculture, food, sewing, handicrafts, herbs, health, tourism, hospitality, green activities and recycling.
The programme is carried out with the aim of increasing local community income through economic activities where the target group consists of Communities, residents’ associations, JPKK, MPKK, Village Heads, Tuai Rumah, or Tok Batin.
Application categories are divided into Pilot (less than one year), Improvement (one to three years) and Expansion (more than three years).

It is coordinated by the Implementation Coordination Unit, Prime Minister’s Department (ICU JPM).
