KOTA KINABALU: Warisan Kota Kinabalu Senior Advisor Dr Chong Eng Leong urged the Election Commission (EC) to immediately verify the academic and professional credentials of Pakatan Harapan’s Api-Api candidate Thonny Chee.
The call follows public questions about whether Chee is a qualified lawyer, as claimed, after a Daily Express report highlighted concerns from the public and legal practitioners.
The candidate reportedly declined to clarify the matter when approached by the media.
“This is a simple matter of transparency. If a candidate is introduced as a lawyer, there must be clear proof - a degree, Bar admission or other verifiable records.
