RANAU: Incumbent Paginatan assemblyman Datuk Abidin Madingkir presented a five-point manifesto for further development in the constituency.
He said the five thrusts were formulated based on the people’s priorities, especially in the aspects of the economy, social well-being, educational opportunities, youth development and senior citizen welfare.
The first is Bandar Baharu Paginatan which will be the Inland Growth Centre for the DUN.
Abidin said Bandar Baharu Paginatan would be a new growth centre in Ranau with modern infrastructure, restructuring of commercial areas and the provision of better basic facilities.
The second focuses on the Village Wellbeing factor which involves holistic facilities like road repairs, clean water supply, street lights, drainage systems and community health facilities.
The third is Agro-Agriculture and Local Economy.
“When farmers succeed, Paginatan’s economy increases,” he said, referring to the great potential of agriculture in Paginatan as a driver of the local economy.
The fourth is on Youth and Education where it will empower the future generation of leaders.
The youth and education agenda is also given priority, including efforts to provide skills training, job opportunities, youth activity centres and educational support such as scholarships and motivational programmes.
The fifth is a focus on the Elderly which involves Welfare and Appreciation for those who have made contributions.
