PENAMPANG: Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim urged young Sabahans to weigh what is best for both the State and the nation during a youth engagement programme in Penampang on Saturday.
He said he stands with Sabah on its constitutional rights as his cabinet continues ironing out the technical details of the 40 per cent revenue entitlement.
Speaking at the Temu Anwar Harapan Urang Muda Sabah event at ITCC, he told the crowd that Putrajaya is committed to seeing the matter through.
Anwar said the federal government has allocated RM17 billion for Sabah’s development this year, noting the rise from RM157 million in 2021 to RM607 million in special funding today.
He added that the funds will help improve roads, water and electricity, while acknowledging that not all issues are fully resolved, and pointed to Malaysia’s 5.2 per cent economic growth as a sign of steady progress.
