KOTA KINABALU: Star Sabah president Datuk Seri Jeffrey Kitingan confirmed on Wednesday that discussions are ongoing with Upko ahead of the 17th Sabah Election.
He said the talks with Upko president Datuk Ewon Benedick had received a positive response, suggesting the possibility of collaboration.
Jeffrey said the party had gone ahead with announcing some of its candidates as scheduled despite the discussions still taking place.
He also hinted that Star could form more partnerships with other parties beyond SAPP in the near future.
However, he said any broader political cooperation would likely be explored only after the election to avoid delays in the party’s campaign plans.
