LAHAD DATU: Police arrested two men for drugs in separate operations at Jalan Reno Fajar, here, on Tuesday.
District Police Chief, ACP Dzulbaharin Ismail said a 33-year-old local was found with a translucent plastic containing substances believed to be Syabu weighing 0.24 grams and aluminium foil.
“The suspect was tested negative for drug abuse. However, he had several previous criminal records involving theft, burglary, robbery and some drug offences.
“The suspect is currently on parole,” he said, adding that the case would be investigated under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952.
Another suspect, a 31-year-old Indonesian, was detained on the same day about 5pm also in the Reno Fajar area.
An inspection found a cigarette box containing translucent plastic filled with substances believed to be Syabu weighing 5.10 grammes.
He was tested positive for Amphetamine and Methamphetamine.
“Investigation would be carried out under Section 39A(1) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952,” he said.
Dzulbaharin added that the operations reflected Lahad Datu Police Headquarters commitment to combating drug activities in this district.
